About Us

St. Lawrence High School is one of the renowned and top ranking State Board schools in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. St. Lawrence High School offers a live learning experience for each student from Nursery to class X while moulding their path towards a bright future.

About the Founders

St. Lawrence High School, Aurangabad was founded by Mr. Collins Albuquerque and Mrs. Flavia Albuquerque in the year 1988 under the patronage of the St. Xavier’s Education Trust. The school was built with the mission to give quality education to the students in and around Aurangabad. The founders believe in and commit to enhance the value of education and empower the students with competence to take up challenges in any form. The constant support from the parents also plays an important role in giving the school the recognition it deserves; for which the school remains eternally grateful to them.

St. Lawrence High School aims at providing an all-round education to its students by promoting various fields of interest such as games and sports, music and singing, elocution and dramatics, outings and excursions, social service, road safety, science club, literary club and so on. Rabindranath Tagore quoted, “Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.” In today’s world, children are born with different vibrational energy and exceptional talents. We, at St. Lawrence High School, believe in imparting value-based education to our students to make them responsible and decent members of the dynamic society. We also identify and nurture the inherent talents of the students and see that their talents blossom by giving them platforms to showcase it. I appreciate our team of well-experienced, trained and dedicated teachers and non-teaching staff who exhibit enormous energy and ardent commitment to deal with every student carefully and emotionally and help them to confront failures and enjoy victories thoughtfully and generously.

Infrastructure

Functional & Well Equipped Classrooms

The school subscribes to the idea of keeping the classrooms well equipped with all the essential learning materials. Well ventilated and bright classrooms encourage students to take an interest in education. Learning materials like display boards help students to exhibit their knowledge as well as creativity in their own space as they progress through the prescribed syllabus. All the classrooms at St. Lawrence High School are equipped with blackboards, furniture and skid-proof flooring.

Science Laboratory

To support theoretical teaching in Science and to develop interest in scientific outlook, the school has well-equipped Science Laboratories. Every year the Science lab is equipped with the latest apparatus, instruments, models, specimens, charts, etc. according to the requirement. Lab is well designed to provide firsthand experience to the students on their own.

Computer Room

TThe spacious computer room with numerous sets of computers enables the students to learn, develop and explore different applications and concepts of technology under the guidance of teachers. The computers are safe and centrally connected to the server. The computer lab not only offers integrated computer skills to the senior students but also provides exposure to the novices.

Library

We understand the importance of inculcating the habit of reading and thus we encourage our students to make full use of our spacious, airy, well-lit and fully furnished library which holds a place of pride in the school. The library is well established with an abundance of books, journals and periodicals which are made available to students during their library or free periods. This allows the students to expand their knowledge about a vast variety of topics. The school takes great care to include books to support the curriculum as well as some recreational reading materials such as novels, comics, classics, etc.

Curriculum

St. Lawrence High School , Aurangabad offers education from Nursery to Class X under the Maharashtra State Board.

The subjects provided in the pre-primary sections are English, Maths and Arts ( Drawing and Craft).

For Primary section (Std 1 to Std 4) English, Marathi, Hindi, Maths, EVS (Environmental Education), Computer, Arts (Drawing and Craft) are the compulsory subjects.

For Primary section (Std 5 to Std 7) English, Marathi, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Studies (History and Geography), Computer, Arts (Drawing and Craft) are the compulsory subjects.

In the secondary section, English, Marathi, Hindi/Sanskrit (optional), Science, Maths, , Social Studies (History and Geography) Computers, Arts (for std 8th) are compulsory subjects.

Co-Curricular Activities

At St. Lawrence High School, students also have the option to choose from a vast variety of activities to complement their interests and hone their individual talents. The activities can be broadly categorized into Sports, Fine Art , Performing Arts, Music, Etc.

Sports

All the physical activities are conducted in the school. The students are supervised and guided by trained sports coaches. The school has outdoor and indoor sports with all types of sporting equipment made available to students. The school’s ever-expanding repertoire currently includes Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Chess, etc. We encourage students to actively participate in sports for their wellbeing and health.

Arts

The students of St. Lawrence High School are trained by qualified art teachers. They are instructed with the basics of sketching, drawing, collage making, colouring, painting, model making, and many other art techniques. Exposure to art allows our students to express themselves.
